The Ashmont Hill Association, which is open to all Ashmont Hill residents, meets monthly in neighbors’ homes to discuss local issues and concerns and provide an opportunity for people to get to know each other. All residents receive the monthly newsletter, The Ashmont Outlook, which covers neighborhood events and activities, and many people visit us here at our web site. The Association, first active in the 1970s, organizes street cleanups, sponsors a much-anticipated annual yard sale, works with other neighborhoods on the Codman Square House Tour, and has planned progressive dinners, holiday parties and other events to bring neighbors together. A subcommittee has prepared a neighborhood improvement plan as a framework for future enhancements in partnership with the City of Boston or through residents’ own efforts. A gardeners’ club was recently formed, with the goal of neighborhood beautification, and a community cookbook is underway.
